Last evening I went to the Bath House Pollinator Garden to do some watering on the odd-numbered designated day. While there I also planned to do some deadheading and trimming and had my hand pruners and bucket ready to go. I saw lots of bees: bumbles and carpenters were foraging on the mealy cup sages as they have been since early spring and honey-bee sized were all over the autumn sages, lantana, spirea, Turks’ cap, and blue mistflower. The bees were having a Saturday night happy hour! I’m used to seeing bees in this garden and mine at home but this time there were so many I decided that it would be tempting fate to try to work among them.
